Strong - Eliza Bruin

The wife of Joseph (sic - should be Jesse) Strong, of Waveland, was killed by a runaway team on Sunday. She is supposed to have fainted and fallen out of the wagon, the wheels of which passed over her.

Note: Eliza Buin was born July 14, 1829 and died July 25, 1887. Her husband, Jesse born Dec 30, 1832 and died July 10, 1916. Both are buried in the Bruin cemetery in Parke County, not far from Waveland. She was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Kirkpatrick Bruin. She and Jesse Strong married in Parke County 25 July 1850 and had at least two sons (Alexander Ulysses and John Sanford) and one daughter, Mary.
